The Beacons improved their winning streak to 10 as they shut-out the Revere Rockies on an unbelievable pitching performance by James Dalton. The Ace threw 7 scoreless innings and amassed 15 strikeouts to dominate the game and pick up his 7th win. Bryan Curran went 3-4 with 2 stolen bases and plated the team's 200th run of the season in the third. Drew Tambling had 4 stolen bases and 3 runs scored while Connor Reinfurt picked up 2 more RBI's. Robert Lerro did his job behind the dish filling in for Kyle McKay who had his own pinch-hit double. Magic Number for the top seed is now 2. Next up: Brighton Black Sox tomorrow night at McConnell.
Today's starter was 8. The Captain was 15. Clinton and Monica were in the headlines. No Boston team had won a damn thing since the '86 Celtics. The Big Dig was still in progress. Paul Cellucci was governor. Dante Bichette was the DH for Jimy Williams. Carlos Santana was atop the Billboard charts and the McKay Club won their division in Y2K. Today, for the first time since 2000, the McKay Club Beacons clinched the Carl Yastrzemski Division of the Thomas Austin Yawkey Baseball League of Boston and secured AT LEAST the #2 seed in the playoffs. No celebrating now; the goal has not been met.
Thomas Fitzpatrick made his starting debut and pitched 5 quality innings to earn his first W in the Yawkey League. The Beacons improve to 11-3 in a 9-5 win vs. the Brighton Minutemen at Rogers Park.
The Beacons plated 8 in the first inning and saw production from nearly all spots in the lineup. It got a little sketchy in the seventh, but YBL batting leader and birthday kid, Bryan Curran, earned a Save to seal the deal.
Back HOME to McConnell on Tuesday in a rematch vs. the Minutemen. James Dalton on the hill.
